Learning More About MCA Grant Day, and the Wonderful Organizations Selected as Award Receipients This Year.
At Mobile Communications America (MCA), our commitment to a ‘Service First’ culture is the foundation of all we do. This principle extends beyond our work and into the heart of the communities where our team members live and work. The MCA Day Grant program is a powerful expression of this commitment, empowering our team to nominate and celebrate non-profit organizations that create profound, positive change.
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the MCA Day Grant program, and we are proud to announce we are awarding twelve $12,000 grants to deserving organizations across the nation. This $144,000 investment supports non-profits dedicated to our four key focus areas: First Responders, Military/Veterans, STEM and technical/vocational education, and Public Health/Community Needs. Each recipient was nominated by an MCA team member, reflecting a shared purpose to build a brighter future, together.
In this post, we are honored to use our platform to highlight the inspiring work of our 2025 MCA Day Grant recipients and shine a light on the lasting impact they create within their communities.
Education Focus Area
These organizations are dedicated to unlocking potential and creating pathways to success through education, mentorship, and resourcefulness.

Snowdrop Foundation – Texas
The Snowdrop Foundation provides college scholarships for pediatric cancer patients and childhood cancer survivors while raising funds for critical childhood cancer research. By easing the financial weight of higher education, Snowdrop empowers young people who have overcome immense personal challenges to pursue their dreams.
Much like the snowdrop flower—the first to bloom in spring, even through the snow—these young survivors demonstrate resilience and an indestructible spirit in the face of life-threatening illness. The snowdrop symbolizes hope and purity, reflecting the Foundation’s mission to inspire hope and work toward a future where every child remains untouched by the devastating diagnosis of cancer.
Why we nominated them:
“It’s not just a scholarship; Snowdrop is a part of the lives of childhood cancer survivors and their journeys. It just doesn’t end there. It’s compassion throughout. The Snowdrop Foundation also help the families by being champions for them. We have “honor kids”, we become an advocate for the family when they just need an ear, a friend or just a hug.” – Shelly Nathan, Voice Division

Academy 4 – Texas
Academy 4 cultivates a brighter future for our community by making a profound impact on the lives of young people. Through a dedicated one-on-one mentorship program, Academy 4 engages with every 4th-grade student in the schools it serves, many of which are Title I campuses. Once a month, committed volunteers forge meaningful relationships and instill vital leadership skills. This consistent, caring adult presence empowers students, fostering growth and resilience. Each mentor is thoughtfully matched with a single 4th grader, prioritizing the development of a positive, supportive connection. In just 90 minutes each month, these purposeful interactions create a significant and lasting difference, enabling mentors to effectively contribute to the students’ journey.
Why we nominated them:
“My wife is a site coordinator for one of the schools that Academy 4 serves. The stories she tells me of how the organization has a positive impact on the lives of these children and the mentors are inspiring.” – Michael Rhodes, Voice Division, Communication Systems Technician

Partners in Learning – North Carolina
Based in Salisbury, Partners in Learning stands as a beacon of early childhood education, fostering a brighter future for all. They provide inclusive early childhood education, critical intervention services, and comprehensive family resources, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, individual and family counseling, and early intervention regardless of income or ability. Partners in Learning connects families and communities with vital resources, collaborating with specialists, doctors, and stakeholders to ensure every child and family has the tools and encouragement needed to thrive.
Why we nominated them:
“What sets PIL apart from other autism-focused centers is its unique inclusive mission. PIL strives to create an environment where children with autism can learn and grow alongside their typically developing peers. By fostering these relationships, PIL not only enhances the educational experience for children with autism but also enriches the lives of their peers.” – Gary Rzemyk, Voice Division, Service Manager

Garner Road Community Center – North Carolina
Located in Raleigh, the Garner Road Community Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of children and families, particularly in Southeast Raleigh and throughout Wake County. As one of the last five Heritage YMCAs in the nation, Garner Road stands as a historical legacy of commitment and ownership for the community. The center provides safe spaces for learning, recreation, and connection through its youth development and community-based programs.
Why we nominated them:
“I can honestly say that through this organization, I have helped serve hundreds of people in need. It is a genuine opportunity to bring community resources together and help those in need. In my line of work, I see too often families in need or a lack of resources. When there is a Garner Road Community Center in place, people see change and they are greeted with open arms. This has been a nurturing place for young people and families.” – Lamart Rogers, Data Division, Installer

Watson Elementary School – Little Rock School District, Arkansas
Watson Elementary is a public K-5 school that provides a range of academic and enrichment opportunities for hundreds of students in an urban setting. Recognized for its teacher excellence and student-centered approach, the school fosters meaningful learning experiences.
Why we nominated them:
“Many of its students lack access to the educational resources and enrichment opportunities that peers from higher-income areas receive. To help bridge this gap, Watson Elementary seeks to expand STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) opportunities. These experiences are essential for leveling the playing field, building 21st-century skills, and opening pathways to future success.” – Bob Bomar, Voice Division, General Manager

Radio Amateur Society of Norfolk (RASON) – Virginia
RASON is an amateur radio club in Norfolk dedicated to advancing the value of amateur radio through education, innovation, and community service. The club engages members in technical learning, youth outreach, and public service communications, enhancing international goodwill and providing critical emergency support. By fostering a community of trained operators and technicians, RASON strengthens the amateur radio service’s ability to contribute to the public good.
Why we nominated them:
“Their leadership team, composed entirely of Licensed Amateur Radio Operators, ensures that the club remains focused on Service, Education, and Innovation. RASON’s efforts have not only strengthened Local Emergency Response Capabilities but also enriched the lives of countless individuals through technical training and community support.” – Rich Davis Voice Division, LMR Engineer
First Responders Focus Area
This organization provides a critical safety net for the brave individuals who protect our communities every day.

Chattanooga Fire Fighters Support Foundation – Tennessee
The Chattanooga Fire Fighters Support Foundation (CFFSF) stands as a beacon of support for firefighters and their communities. They provide crucial financial and logistical aid to local firefighters facing hardships and maintain a vital Relief Fund for those impacted in the line of duty. Their commitment extends to supporting families affected by fire, assisting young burn victims through Camp Hope, and distributing free smoke detectors to vulnerable populations. Through initiatives like the Special Needs Awareness Program (S.N.A.P.), CFFSF empowers public safety and fosters a safer, more resilient community for all.
Why we nominated them:
“Much like MCA’s service-first mentality, this association aligns with the values of MCA and would use this grant to support the community. If awarded, this grant would help support approximately 250 professional firefighters throughout Hamilton County, Chattanooga, and North Georgia.” – Robert Hunsucker, Voice Division, Service Manager
Military & Veterans Focus Area
These organizations honor the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military members, veterans, and their families.

Operation Patriots FOB – South Carolina
Operation Patriots FOB (OPFOB) orchestrates restorative outdoor retreats for veterans, active-duty military, and first responders on a sprawling 268-acre recreational property in the Lowcountry. This vital initiative cultivates a welcoming space where individuals can connect with peers, forge community bonds, and courageously address the invisible wounds of service. By fostering profoundly positive experiences through outdoor activities and genuine connection, and by offering these transformative services at no cost to our nation’s heroes and their families, OPFOB delivers essential relief from daily struggles, powerfully affirming that they are never alone in their journey.
Why we nominated them:
“As a retired First Responder from the area, I have personally seen what OPFOB does for Military Veterans and First Responders. Operation Patriots FOB is on a mission to serve those who serve us—veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and their families—through outdoor-based programming that restores purpose, connection, and mental clarity. I have attended several events at their 268 Acre facility, and each event has always been organized, safe, and free.” – Brian Cleland, Voice Division, Service Manager
America’s Warriors Care Package Project – Maryland
Based in Westminster, America’s Warriors Care Package Project ensures deployed U.S. service members know they are not forgotten. Volunteers assemble and ship care packages filled with essential items and handwritten notes. These tangible reminders of gratitude boost morale and connect troops with the people back home. This grant will help cover shipping and supply costs, allowing more packages to reach service members worldwide.
Why we nominated them:
“I am nominating America’s Warriors Care project for the annual grant because of their unwavering support in providing Care Packages from home to all of our Service Branches. Dawn has gone above and beyond to provide that hometown experience to deployed military troops worldwide. What started as a small endeavor when her son enlisted in the Marines has turned into a huge organization of the Westminster Community to support our Troops.” – Jayne Haines, Security Division, Sr. Design Engineer
Public Health & Community Needs Focus Area
These organizations are pillars of their communities, addressing fundamental needs from safety and security to cultural preservation.

Women’s Protection Alliance – Missouri
The Women’s Protection Alliance is dedicated to providing opportunities for women and children in crisis to persevere. The organization focuses on “Hidden Homelessness,” supporting marginalized and often overlooked families who may be living temporarily with friends or relatives rather than in shelters. With a mission of “action over statistics,” the Alliance aims to make women whole in all aspects of their lives—spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, economically, and socially. The MCA Day Grant will help the Alliance continue providing these critical resources, reinforcing community health and safety.
Why we nominated them:
“WPA matters because they don’t just hand out pamphlets or send people to crowded shelters. They’re creating a four-bedroom transitional home that feels like a home, not an institution. Four families at a time. Six months of stability. Workshops on budgeting, parenting, and job prep. Volunteers who show up as tutors, financial planners, and mentors. It’s not charity—it’s a lifeline.” – Abu Sayeed, Data Division – Director, Business Development, IWS

Located in Pendleton, Outfitters, Inc. provides new and gently used clothing to school-age children in need at no cost. Last year, Outfitters served over 1,100 children in Madison County, providing each with a week’s worth of clothing absolutely free. Children shop by private appointment, ensuring their dignity and privacy are preserved. Twice a year, kids can select a full week’s wardrobe, including 7 tops, 5 bottoms, 7 pairs of socks, 7 underwear, a jacket, and shoes. By offering appropriate, in-style clothing, Outfitters helps children feel confident and ready to learn.
Why we nominated them:
“I have witnessed firsthand the profound influence Outfitters Inc. has had on the children of Madison County, IN. The passion and energy they bring to their work inspire others to contribute, fostering a spirit of unity and hope. Outfitters Inc. has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovative approaches to providing children that are in need with clothing. Their ability to engage stakeholders and foster collaboration among community members is commendable.” – Bryce Bale, Security Division, Project Manager

Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley – Illinois
Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley has been dedicated to saving and sharing local history in Kane County since 1974. What began as an effort to save the 1843 Durant-Peterson House has grown into operating five historic sites for public enrichment. Through immersive tours, educational programs, and community events, they foster a deep appreciation for local history and architecture. Preservation Partners also provides vital resources to support the ongoing conservation of historic structures throughout the region, ensuring these legacies endure for future generations.
Why we nominated them:
“I’ve been volunteering as a Docent with the group for the last four years. It has been the highlight of my summers. PPFV is highly regarded and beloved in the western suburbs. The five sites they manage need significant repair and code upgrade and, though they do a wonderful job fundraising, amassing the funds they need is difficult to do. The grant from MCA would help them go a long way to maintaining the building structures and helping to make them safe so they can continue to provide education and history to the masses.” – Wendy Christman, Central Division, Proposal Center Manager
Honoring Our Anniversary—Better Together for Greater Impact
The twelve organizations recognized this year represent a powerful spectrum of missions: supporting children, uplifting heroes, and strengthening the heart of our communities. By nominating these non-profits, MCA team members have amplified the voices of local champions whose impact endures far beyond a single grant. Together, we celebrate their work and reaffirm our commitment to shared progress.
Looking ahead, MCA is excited to announce that our 2026 program will celebrate the company’s 13th anniversary by awarding thirteen grants of $13,000 each. This expansion is more than a reflection of growth—it is a renewed promise to deepen our partnerships and create even greater opportunities for positive change.
