Effortlessly Manage Data Flow Between MOTOTRBO Systems and Cloud-Hosed Applications
Seamless integration between on-premises systems and cloud-hosted applications is quickly becoming a top priority for many organizations’ network management plans. To help organizations meet these needs, Motorola Solutions has introduced the Motorola Edge Node, a gateway designed to efficiently and securely bridge the gap between MOTOTRBO systems and cloud-based services.
The Motorola Edge Node is a secure conduit that can effortlessly manage data flow between MOTOTRBO systems and MSI cloud-hosted applications. By easily integrating into MOTOTRBO systems, it provides diverse solutions through secure and cloud-compatible protocols.
Multi-Geo Location Network Compatibility
The Multi-Geo Location Network (MGLN) is at the heart of this integration, enabling MOTOTRBO systems to connect with cloud-hosted applications such as CommandCentral Aware Enterprise and Orchestrate. Operating as a multi-tenant solution, MGLN ensures secure simultaneous access for multiple clients, facilitating seamless integration with various operational needs.
Compatible with all MOTOTRBO radio system types (with the exception of the Connect Plus system) MGLN offers seamless integration and reliable connectivity for diverse operational needs.
Modern REST-Based API Suite
The Edge Node is an endpoint facilitating the bi-directional extension of MOTOTRBO system/device data via a modern REST-based API suite. This empowers MSI cloud-hosted applications to leverage the data, enriching their product offerings and delivering innovative value to customers.
Scalable Services
The MGLN operates on a cloud infrastructure equipped with monitoring software. This enables the detection of overload situations, prompting the deployment of additional computing and storage resources to manage increased loads and ensure effective service delivery.
Extendable API
The MGLN API suite is designed for extensibility and unlocks a range of functionalities, including device presence and location tracking, individual/group messaging, and device/talkgroup range provisioning. Its ultimate aim is to support the development of new MOTOTRBO data services, catering to evolving needs and requirements.

Health Monitoring and Diagnostics (Roadmap)
The MGLN diagnostic service offers comprehensive visibility by continuously monitoring connections to MOTOTRBO system networks, radio data traffic routed to MGLN, Edge Node connectivity, and the availability of MGLN services. It provides a real-time health dashboard, retains historic logs, and offers advanced traffic analysis reports. This proactive approach enables swift detection of service outages, facilitating prompt and effective resolution.
Extensive MNIS and DDMS significantly expand enterprise solution possibilities beyond the MOTOTRBO portfolio, extending to third-party applications covering messaging, location services, telemetry, presence detection, data management, and more. The interface with the MGLN service facilitates integration with MSI cloud-hosted services like Orchestrate and CommandCentral Aware.
Streamlined Deployment
The Motorola Edge Node simplifies interfaces’ deployment, configuration, and operation into a single cloud-managed solution. As a unified portal for all Motorola Edge Node platform features, it enables seamless attachment/detachment of nodes to cloud services, provides essential host information, and facilitates operations. Additionally, automated life cycle management ensures continuous delivery of new features and updates for applications, operating systems, and platforms without manual intervention.
Secure Operations
The Motorola Edge Node ensures security through simplified authentication mechanisms for applications and Orchestrate, leveraging common identity management capabilities. Enhanced by a Motorola public key infrastructure certificate, the Edge Node’s embedded software remains protected from the moment it leaves the factory. These security measures align with MSI’s commitment to maintaining and adhering to up-to-date standards, approved frameworks, checklists, and guidance throughout the development life cycle.
Cloud-Based Portal
Further enhancing the app solution, the Motorola Edge Node’s cloud-based portal offers remote configuration capabilities, real-time service status monitoring, talkgroup range provisioning, diagnostics reports, and log collections. This comprehensive suite of features contributes to enhanced operational efficiency and security.
